Counselling + Massage + Hypnotherapy

Re-connect with yourself, identify what you truly want and create a more fulfilling life.

During a lifetime we all encounter difficult times and challenges. Guess what? You don't have to navigate it all on your own. Using a  gentle, inquisitive approach to counselling through Polyvagal TheoryInternal Family Systems (parts work), mindfulness,  positive psychology, and solution-focused therapy, our sessions together encourage you to build on your existing strengths to create a more meaningful and balanced life.

You are not alone.

With a unique background as a massage specialist, yoga instructor, integrative health coach and hypnotherapist we can also explore the somatic relationship to your experience. I choose to support clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, life stresses, relationship difficulties, and issues related to life transitions and personal growth. I'm here to really, truly listen. Show up as you are. How you're feeling makes more sense than you may yet understand.

ABOUT

IMG_0399.jpeg

As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor I view emotional, mental and physical health as inextricably linked and work from a whole person perspective. In my 20+ years experience as a Massage Specialist, Yoga Teacher and Health Coach I began to realize these were gateways to deeper healing and a conduit to much larger conversations. I wanted to support my clients further so I continued my education in Professional Counselling to bridge the mind/body connection. I am passionate about bringing the tools for health and wellness to everyone.

I can help you get unstuck in the areas of your life that you may be finding challenging. We’ll use science,  somatic tools and tangible exercises to begin shifting your experience, all of which will show you how to bring lasting change in your life that you will continue to build on beyond our time together. We will work at a pace that your system can manage as we support you in stepping into the life you are meant to be living.

My approach to therapy is collaborative – grounded in openness, honesty, trust and humour.  I draw from several different schools of practice including Polyvagal Theory, Parts Work (IFS) and somatic or embodied practices. All of them place importance on our relationship – on connecting with you, creating safety for you, and allowing you to feel truly and deeply heard.

Counselling can help shift your focus toward a more positive and self-empowering approach that emphasizes your capacity to build resilience, to reduce suffering, to find inner peace, joy, and fulfilment, to seek purpose, meaning, and happiness, and to connect to others.

Massage

As a massage specialist with 25 years of hands on experience I offer you a deeply relaxing and effective experience that makes sense for you and your body. When we meet we will discuss what techniques may be best suited for you.

By promoting relaxation, reducing stress hormones, stimulating the vagus nerve (longest nerve in the body), and improving circulation, massage can effectively help maintain a balanced nervous system and contribute to improved mental and physical health.

We all want to feel a sense of ease within our body, recover well from an injury, find relief from chronic pain and increase range of motion. Let's get started

to Work

I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC #2392) registered with ACCT. Many extended health plans in BC cover the services of a RTC. Refer to your plan manual for details, or call the insurer and they will be able to assist you. If you have coverage, you will be required to pay me directly in full for your session, and then submit your receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement. Additionally, you may be eligible to submit receipts as a medical expense with your income tax.

If your insurance plan does not cover the services you are able to request that your plan be extended to cover an RTC. I can provide you with the request letter to appeal their decision for coverage.
